Here at The Encouraging Voice we want to help bring you closer to God’s purpose and plans for you and inspire you to go after them. Through events in our local communities we get the chance to give and receive, learn and grow, meet needs and allow God to transform us. Ultimately, we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus, display and testify the love of Christ, and be a part of restoring people back to God.
Most of these events or resources are going to be close to the Fenton or Flint areas. For those of you farther away I hope this encourages or inspires you to see what’s going on around here and get connected with something back home by you. If not, maybe you’re the one that starts figuring out what it would take to make it happen. If you ever have any questions on any of these events you can message us on the Facebook page, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or comment here on the website.

Flint Soup Kitchen Needs Volunteers!
“Summer means the soup kitchens will serve more people, yet have less volunteers since many people are on vacation and school and youth groups are not in session. August has several openings that maybe you could help fill.” Here’s an opportunity to fill in the gap, grow and stretch in maybe a way you’ve never done before, and open yourself to love and serve in an incredible way. There’s enough slots you can find a time that works.
I Can Adult – Fenton Challenge
Fenton Challenge is hosting this happening again on Saturday, February 25th! Details coming ASAP!
The Outpour Worship Night – Flint
Happening in Café Rhema’s Agora Lounge this Saturday, January 14th at 6:30pm!
The Crim Festival of Races – Flint
I ran the 5k a few years ago for the first time and had an absolute blast. It was incredible to experience thousands of people in downtown Flint and be a part of such an amazing event here. I’ll be there this year – find me with my bright yellow #run4haiti shirt on and take a pic with me! Hope to see you too! Saturday, August 25th!
iGrow Ministry Classes @ TFC
The Freedom Center church in Fenton, MI has some incredible classes scheduled each quarter that provide a small group environment to go deeper in various areas of spiritual and personal growth. If you’re between the ages of 18-32 the Encounter (Young Adult) group at TFC meets Monday nights to encounter God and each other to then go out and impact the community. New sessions just started up this month!
Local Church, Nursing Home, or Soup Kitchen
There are incredible opportunities to serve in your community or here in Fenton/Holly/Linden area. Our family caroled at some local nursing homes and assisted livings this past Christmas and all we did was call and ask to talk to the Activities Director. Go play music, read to them, or play
some games. They’ll forever appreciate it.
You can also ask your church how you can volunteer in their benevolence ministries (food pantry or baby closet for example). The link above will take you to google – do it!
More events and resources will be posted here throughout the year!
Romans 12:4-8 “4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.”
