Today I posted the first encouraging video to The Encouraging Voice youtube channel since dropping all of my licenses. It’d been since the summer I think since I posted my last one and I was just dissatisfied with what I was producing. Yes, I was getting some aspects of things slowly, and yes there’s truth to continuing to put out content so that you can learn and keep growing. However, I am a big believer in quality over quantity.
You need to know your target before you just start shooting off rounds.
I had a great conversation with a friend who reminded me that it took them hours and hours to pick out their opening theme music. So I need to be patient. I also needed to finally drop my licenses and let everyone know what was going on… that’ll be coming next. A video to explain this entire process. Now that I’m not legally representing some other entity first, I can be free to just share myself completely.
I also need to keep taking one step at a time, keep identifying things I don’t like and trying new things to make it better. I realized tonight how much I really like profile pictures. Not the pictures you put up on your Facebook… but a portrait that’s taken from the side so that you can see someone’s profile. I love it. Not so invasive… I’m not awkwardly staring at you through social media… and I dunno. More artistic too?
So this is the icon I made for the new video posted tonight. I love it. Now the video itself I was aiming for a normal vocal sound. I want so much to be myself. So I didn’t focus on making the lighting perfect, or my funky bangs and hair to be all just right… just wanted to sit down and be as authentic as possible. So I’m going to work on tackling that each time and we’ll just keep taking one step at a time!
Hang in there friends. Whatever you’re going through, I hope you find something of value, something that resonates, and that you’re giving Jesus access into those inner places.
Thank you for being patient with me and walking alongside me in all of this. I’m excited for this new chapter and for the doors that I can now walk through openly with no hesitations or restrictions.
Hebrews 6:17-20English Standard Version (ESV)
17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
